Community Planner Laurel Mire’s passion for planning helps cities and towns support their environment and their citizens simultaneously. She believes planning is an effective and engaging way to instill equity, environmental stewardship, and a sense of belonging for all who live, work, and play in a place. Laurel brings GIS expertise and enjoys utilizing maps to visualize data, facilitate public engagement, and ground planning in the opportunities and constraints of a municipality, neighborhood, or parcel. Laurel’s work experience includes master plan updates and providing support for BPG teams on various GIS projects and public engagement events. She has also completed work in community disaster resilience, short-term rental regulation, housing, stormwater management, and low impact development. Laurel holds a master’s of Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University. As a Louisiana native, Laurel enjoys all that New England has to offer including hiking in Acadia National Park and exploring her local Boston neighborhood surroundings.
