Community Planner and AICP Candidate Laurel Mire’s passion for planning helps cities and towns support their environment and their citizens simultaneously. She believes planning is an effective and engaging way to instill equity, environmental stewardship, and a sense of belonging for all who live, work, and play in a place. Laurel brings GIS expertise and enjoys utilizing maps to visualize data, facilitate public engagement, and ground planning in the opportunities and constraints of a municipality, neighborhood, or parcel. Laurel manages and assists projects spanning comprehensive, housing, and open space planning; GIS mapping and analysis; climate and social resilience building; and community engagement and facilitation. Laurel holds a master’s of Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University. As a Louisiana native, Laurel enjoys exploring all that New England has to offer, recently hiking her first summit in the White Mountains’ Presidential Range.
