Principal Planner Alexis Lanzillotta, AICP, joined Barrett Planning Group after enjoying a twelve-year career as a public school teacher. She brings many of the skills cultivated in the classroom to her approach as a planner, particularly in designing community engagement opportunities that foster participation, collaboration, and enthusiasm. Alexis enjoys both the human and technical aspects of her work and recognizes that informed planning processes allow communities to make thoughtful planning and land use decisions. She loves hearing from community members about what makes each city, town, and neighborhood special and prioritizes bringing these perspectives into the planning process. While Alexis has worked on a variety of projects with Barrett Planning Group, she takes special interest in housing and homelessness and believes that community planning should include planning for community-scale housing that meets a variety of needs and will allow current and future households to call a place home. Outside of her role at Barrett Planning Group, Alexis enjoys spending time with her family and exploring new artistic crafts and activities.
