Principal Planner Alexis Lanzillotta, AICP, joined Barrett Planning Group after enjoying a twelve-year career as a public-school teacher. She loves hearing from community members about what makes each city, town, and neighborhood special and prioritizes bringing these perspectives into the planning process. Alexis takes special interest in housing and is highly knowledgeable in the complex regulatory requirements behind state and federal affordable housing programs. She aims to equip municipalities with tools to create and preserve affordable housing, and to provide for its continued compliance and oversight. Alexis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Latin from Tufts University and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Teaching from Fitchburg State University. She is a Certified Occupancy Specialist through the National Center for Housing Management and is included in their National Registry of Certified Housing Professionals. Outside of her role at Barrett Planning Group, Alexis enjoys spending time with her family and exploring new artistic crafts and activities.
