The American Planning Association Massachusetts Chapter’s (APA-MA) Sustainable Development Committee invites you to Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Planning and Action: A Conversation with Kim Lundgren and Michele Paul on Resiliency Planning in New Bedford.

This webinar will feature presentations from Kim Lundgren and Michele Paul identifying how New Bedford is making strides in coastal resiliency by highlighting their recent work on the MVP grant and their Green Infrastructure Master Plan. The presentation will focus on the projects’ background, how these efforts are incorporated into other citywide planning efforts, grant success stories, equitable community engagement strategies, and project eligibility for other interested communities. The information will be useful to:
Learn about substantial educational resources regarding resiliency planning;
Understand how these efforts can be integrated into broader climate resilience and mitigation planning projects;
Be a resource for other coastal communities pursuing or thinking of pursuing similar projects; and
See how to conduct these assessments and planning projects as community-driven, regional projects.
Attendees will then be able to ask presenters questions about the projects following the presentations.
